Anyone can search the public opportunity list first. Accounts are only needed for saving, feedback, and submissions.
Accessibility / Support
Built to be easier for students, parents, educators, and community groups.
Use city, region, age, category, volunteer hours, co-op, mentorship, leadership, and focused-program filters.
Listings keep summaries clear, show official source links, and support list view when a map is not the easiest option.
Project Background
Project Background / How It Was Built
GTA FREE STEM Opportunities is a public web platform built to help students, parents, educators, and community groups find free STEM opportunities across the Greater Toronto Area.
The frontend uses Next.js, TypeScript, responsive design, a mobile-first interface, light/dark mode, multilingual controls, and a map/list view.
The backend and data layer are planned around Supabase for user accounts, saved opportunities, feedback, missing opportunity submissions, and admin review.
Users can browse without an account, use list view instead of map view, search by city, region, and age, and read plain-language descriptions.
